Mattel Disney Planes: New Target Box Sets

Even though Planes: Fire & Rescue diecasts are out, there are still Planes diecasts being released … though once again, not exactly in the best format …

Take to the Skies which features the first release of YELLOW BIRD and the hard to find as a single, TSUBASA along with fairly common re-releases of El Chup & 86 LJH.

International Racers features Sun Wing, & Jan Kowalski which was previously only available in the 7-pack. It also includes repeat singles Gunnar Viking & Rochelle. (Rochelle is unfortunately NOT the French version but the usual US release).

This is the current 7-pack on the shelves so basically, you have to pick your poison to get the remaining PLANES diecast releases as none will complete your set without extra repeats. The 7-pack has Joey Dundee so far unavailable anywhere else.

Yellow Bird is listed as a single but does that mean it’s coming? There are several more listed singles but will they get released as singles or in box sets like these?

I’m not a collector of Planes. However, I’ve seen the newer castings in “stand alone” displays for $5.99 to $8.99. I’ve seen absolutely no interest in the toys. In fact my local variety store is running a buy one get one at half price- still not movement.

All the planes in the International Racers set were/are released as singles. No need for this set.
I’d like to see more singles releases from your earlier post back in December, such as: the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Ireland releases?
All I see are the same planes over and over, clogging the pegs.
Losing interest, when nothing new is showing up at retail, and will not buy any more Target sets. Planes or otherwise. Overpriced.
