A new playset is available on Amazon just search for Control Tower playset. It includes Patch and Firefighter Dusty and it actually looks really cool! Not sure if she’s diecast though.
Thanks, Refried! I’ll advise once my playset arrives if Patch is plastic or metal — I suspect she is plastic though, but like Sparky, that seems the only way to get the character in a correct scale.
After seeing the film, this is indeed “Patch”, the tower pitty at Piston Peak Air Attack (I know, I’ve got way too much time on my hands lately).
It looks like Dottie repainted to fit Dusty’s new paint job for Fire and Rescue?
Dotty has the tool belt in Planes, and a wider “hip” area behind the cab. Maybe she’s lost weight?
According to IMDb, there’s a female voice talent playing a character named “Patch” – maybe this is her?

There are new Planes Fire and Rescue characters up on the Disney Store website. There’s one called Muir that’s really cool-it’s a big black locomotive. The other characters are the red and green helicopters. Each is $19.95.
“Muir” looks to be circa 1870 or so, wonder what he’s doing in present day Piston Peak National Park?
You need to visit Durango, Colorado!
(MET: Or the Bay Area, BART is still running trains from the 1970’s and SF Muni not only runs cable cars but trolleys from the 1890’s to the 1940’s).
LOL, I’ve been to Durango multiple times (no thanks anymore, too built-up), Chama NM, Cass WV, etc, and driven hundreds of miles of abandoned railroad grades. The 2300+ railroad history books in my basement library are sufficient for any research. I’m a life member of the Colorado Railroad Museum, among other organizations. I was merely pointing out that “Muir” is a type that is not operating anywhere today, nor could it without massive reworking. For one, he has no pressure relief valve, and still uses crosshead pumps and clack valve style injectors!
(MET: In CARS World, you cannot help but trip over crosshead pumps on the way back to the Texas Tea slurpee at 7-11. 🙂 ).
