Disney Store Greta & The Very Real 1959 Buick Electra
“John V.” sends us a heads up there’s a new CHASER at the Disney store, surprisingly, it’s Greta.
But John V. sends us a much nicer photo, his 1:1 scale “Greta, ” his 1959 Buick Electra.
WOW! That looks showroom new! It looks perfect plus he’s on a street wide enough to drive it – thanks for the great photo, I think we’re all jealous of your real life CHASE. 🙂

Maybe your Buick was one of the first cars designed at the GM Design Center?
I think the 58’s may have been first, I have a design book, I believe it shows the chromed up 58’s in the newer design rooms. The Tech Center opened in May 1956 so the 57’s designs should have been locked down by then I would think?
Truly one of the most beautiful cars of its generation ! I’ve owned 3 Buicks, one older (’55, my first car) and 2 newer (both 1990’s (one of those went to my daughter-in-law who is still driving it).
I’d have given my eye teeth to latch on to a ’59, a really elegant machine!
I’m not convinced that Greta is a Buick wannabe, but thanks, John V., for sharing.

I got it yesterday, I wish they came in the acrylic boxes still, the
cardboard ones aren’t that nice, Greta looks pretty neat, about as long
as Disney Store Flo, but not as wide, very close to Mattel’s Greta. I hope Disney Store does some of the other old ones next!
