Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: CARS 2 Collector Checklist

The link to the CARS 1 checklist is here – for those collecting CARS 2 also, here is the checklist for CARS 2.

The count for CARS 2 is 153. There are at least 50 minor to unibody metal upgrade variants. There are 18 Silver Metallic or Rubber Tire racers (including variants).

(Ruka and Waiter Mater somehow fell off this list – sorry!)

So, we’re at minimum 604 diecasts for CARS 1 and 2 (combined checklist coming) … NOT including expanded universe and PLANES.

Yes, Met, THANK YOU! I’m an avid, faithful reader but don’t comment often enough, especially to express my gratitude for everything you do here. To be honest, however, I’m a little scared to print this list (as well as the Cars ones from earlier) and use it to go through the collection here as I’m afraid it might demonstrate I have some kind of *cough* problem. But now I have to know something else… Grem? He has a variant? I had no idea. What changed?

(MET: New checklist with everything. 🙂 Grem – single, 2-pack with different eyebrows and the 2-pack eyebrows with dark gray tires instead of black … ).

Thanks again for putting these together, Met!

The count for Cars 2 I get is closer to 200, not counting variants. That includes the 2014 cars that were released in 2013.

(MET: Humm, that’s a pretty big difference … Somehow Ruka & Waiter Mater fell off the list but other than that? I did not recount every puzzle release – I capped minor variants at 1 or 2 depending on the grid … and there are like 7 or 8 Jeff Gorvettes – I think I listed 5? It’s a general guideline 🙂 ).

There was also a Lightning McQueen with Travel Wheels in a two-pack with a Sneaky-Looking Fillmore…… and one with silver rims in a Finish Line Frenzy game? Not a big deal, really. Either of them.

(MET: Yea, it’s in the magazine checklist but here, it’s more of like a general guideline. For instance, all the puzzle-game CARS, if they were shown that way in the film, I would definitely consider them major variants or even warrants its own line but as non-canon, those that are collecting them will, this chart serves as a general guideline).
