Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: The Mattel Company Store in Texas

“LaneChange” sends along his nice stroll through the Mattel Company Store/Outlet store in Texas.

launchers

The usual suspects.

pegs

Porto Corsa Lightning & Francesco – still a few left, go figure!  And lots of Action Agents.

Though this is actually a nice endcap.

The rest are what you’d expect – playsets from the past few years.

playsets2

All the PLANES playsets.

And I wondered what ever happened to the rest of the McQueen Alive but here they are.

Good selection of PLANES.

I think some people would like a Mattel-Costco – it would make shopping easier.

Thanks for the nice photos, “LaneChange.”

Question: what is the character in the second column of singles below Francesco and to the right of Brent Mustangberger?

    Thanks!

No Lassetire or Muggsy White Boxes?

That’s why I went when I saw Mets post about them showing up there. The first time they hadn’t got them yet or hadn’t put them out this time someone had bought 2 cases of each earlier in the day. I did get 2 of each but they were not in the white box.

As an extremely envious Australia Cars fan (where prices can be more than double US prices), can I ask the poster what price are the Mirco Drifter 3 packs in pic 2. And also what prices for the deluxe and 2013 release double packs in pic 3.

I’d love to find a US based shopper service to plunder these stores for me.

(MET: There is a section in our forum based in regions – if there’s not one for Ft. Worth (Dallas), you can start one – drop a line and maybe someone can answer – especially now that AUS seems to get exclusives and many items before the US, there’s always trade).

Interesting… thanks for sharing the great photos.

I only saw the Jeff and Carla launchers at Kohl’s stores… nowhere else… and Mattel probably looks at these stores and thinks that Cars merchandise isn’t selling… without thinking it’s case assortments that are causing items/product lines to not sell.

Anyone know how much the McQueen Alive’s are selling for there?

    • Lane Change says:

He’s $50 then depending on whether they are running 20% or 30% off somewhere around $35.

      • tzdtmm says:

thank you for the info, I’ve been debating picking one up off of Amazon

It’s been our experience that the prices in the Mattel outlet stores around Los Angeles are full retail and usually not worth paying. We stop in occasionally because odd items turn up that don’t it make it to the big box stores. (such as the two-pack single with one diecast and one micro drifter on the same card)

Our local Kmart received eight “It’s Alive” McQueens when they were first released. Two sold immediately at the original price, $65.00? The other six sat on a top shelf in the toy section getting more and more shelf worn for about six months. Eventually the price had dropped to $14.99 each and still they did not sell. Eventually they disappeared, either selling at that price or being shipped off somewhere?

Haven’t been to that store in years. I would stop by on my way back from drill weekends at the JRB.
