Disney Pixar CARS: “Michael Wallis confirms there will be a Cars 3″
Michael Wallis, author of “Route 66: The Mother Road,” and the voice of Sheriff gave an interview to radio station WGBZ.
At about the 22-minute mark, you’ll hear him drop a pretty big nugget of news — that Disney-Pixar will make a “Cars 3″ film that goes back to Route 66 and includes Route 99, a historically significant highway in California.
Coming in 2018.

It’s not too surprising – in additional to selling about $1.5 billion dollars worth of merchandise every year and CARS land increasing California Adventures attendance about 35% – 35%! It’s seems pretty obvious.
There have been rumors along the way so it was not exactly a shocker but still pleasant to hear it’s on track.

Talking to a wig at toys r us he disclosed that Pixar had booked shelf space for cars 3 in 2016 with each store in the uk getting a replica mcqueen at a cost of £10,000 per store, also the shelf space was to be more than any other cinematic release so far, even eclipsing SW episode 1 back in the day, he seemed to know all about it and was too talkative to making it up! We will see!?!?!? Fingers crossed 🙂

Well… not sure what to expect from this 🙁 Loved Cars 1. HATED Cars II so much. I consider Cars II Fox Animation studios quality and not Pixar quality. Excited that they will go back into Old Routes etc but not sure what to expect. For the diecast line, as long as they don’t produced 10 million Finns that even @ $1 they don’t move, I will be fine and looking towards it. Damn it.. when is this going to end 😀 JK
P.S: Haven’t even started with Planes or Toons yet 🙁
Problem with Cars II was that it was a prolonged episode of MTT. There was not as much heart as in the first movie.
He said 66 into 99. Sounds like it will be a California Route 99 based story. Old home turf for me. 99 was the main route north south until Interstate 5 was built. Just like 66 was the main route west until 40 was built.
I guess this means they will be making cars diecasts through at least 2020

Woah, nice! Hopefully they’ll use some of the great ideas from the Boom Comics storylines, which even include a just-for-fun race across Route 66 to Chi-Car-Go!
