Disney Pixar CARS: Disney Store Chase New – Lightning McQueen Silver Hot Rod

New Disney Store Acrylic Box Single –  Lightning McQueen Silver Hot Rod.

Silver HR LM

It looks like they have raised the regular price of their acrylic boxed singles by $.45 to $6.95 each now. But others like Rip Clutchgoneski are still $6.50 – or 2 for $12.

Thanks for the heads up “MackDaddy!”

It’s a shame the quality of these cars tends to be Wildly inconsistent. Some of the vehicles like the Tokyo Mater Chase are absolutely beautiful. This car has great metalic paint and a solid metal die cast body. It’s a top shelf collector car all the way. And while I don’t have the Rescue Squad Mater Chase he looks to be another high quality car. But the Chase Red looks cheap with new decals placed over door seems without any thought to the vehicle design lines. And many of the others cars I’ve seen don’t have the sharp (paint and/or body) lines found in most of Mattel’s Cars offerings. For me, these are a car by car collectors set. I normally buy EVERYTHING, as I’m a diehard completist but with these cars I just can’t do it.

It is actually a great observation you made on Tokyo Mater. If you look at the bottom of the case you will see silver screws. Another difference is on the rear of the card it has a manufacture code imprinted and no model number. The Tokyo maters (blue and purple) and Lee Revkins are the only models released with silver screws. Met stated that Lee was made from a different manufacturer. I am willing to bet that the Tokyo Maters are also from the same plant. This time around they learned how to spell. 😉

Thanks, Unixed. I’ve learned a lot on this site, which has only worsened my die cast Cars addiction. Here’s to hoping this new manufacturer will produce more of the upcoming Disney Store Cars.

I do not collect these, but I think I have a gift card to use up…
