Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: International Preview “L Case”

“Saukoon” found these in Malaysia in the International version of the “L Case.” For 2013, the US and Int’l cases are no longer in sync – we will get CASE R (twin of H), and maybe another case before we get the L case so we won’t get this until maybe September.

And Ichigo, a CHASE. There is no SUPER CHASE in the US version of this case.

The whole 1% of vehicles in this “assortment” pretty much is meaningless. even if you restrict “this assortment” to the characters in this case – does it mean the lifetime of production as it says nothing about production in 2013 or the production of this case assortment ONLY … so, for the US, we can guess a CHASE is produced with 15,000 as a max number… but now does that count int’l or is it counted separately? But no matter how you slice it, it’s easy to weasel anything as 1% of production … well maybe not Lightning McQueen with racing wheel, or Francesco Bernoulli but outside of those two … 🙂 … but definitely, nearly everything is 1% of production of those two. 🙁

The L CASE is a great case. In addition to what you already see, we will also get Boost with Flames, the return of RPM, and maybe the Silver version of Hudson Hornet Lightning McQueen.

Thanks for the great pics, “Saukoon!”

Thanks to a friend in Malaysia, these are on the way.

John – It maybe a matter of personal preference, but some in previous international series they used to print the names in multi-languages on the front plinth and IMO that’s looked too busy or untidy. I much prefer the image on the lower name plinth (nametag) area. That said, I don’t know why the UK doesn’t get the US style cards like much of the rest of the English-speaking world?

The UK/European equivalent of this case is the W1938-994B. This was released earlier this week. There were a few changes from the touted US case 999L.

    Donna Pits replaced Vern.
Luigi & Guido with shaker and glasses replaced the regular paring.
An extra Shu Todoroki replaced Ichigo (Chase).

There have been nine cases released in the UK/Europe (not everyone in both UK and Europe). There are supposed to be two more cases to ‘complete’ the standard singles set. Only six cars haven’t been released in UK/Europe including two Chase cars. None of the Super Chase are due. J. Curby Gremlin also hasn’t been issued in the UK and was rare in Europe so we all hope for a reissue of him!

I always think the International Packaged cars are cooler. Probably because we don’t get those kinds of packages in the US.

Nice… and the US falls further and further behind.

I’ll never understand why they use an image of the Car in place of a nametag on International packaging. I know there are numerous languages requiring numerous translations, but isn’t one image on the cardback enough?
