Matel Disney Pixar CARS Toons Diecast: Lizzie & Stanley Marriage Now Cast in Diecast Zinc …

It looks like Stanley & Lizzie’s wedding gift to you is they are coming in diecast form.

Stanley & Lizzie

“TG” sends along photos that are from a preview catalog? Not sure when they will arrive but it seems they are launching 2 Toons in September, it seems the appropriate time to re-launch new Toons diecasts or at least bring the line back as a regular peg line – there’s also that whole Christmas thing around the corner by then so maybe Fall 2013? If not, then almost certainly Holiday 2013. The Fall list of products won’t really be available for another couple months but pre-production versions are nice … Stanley

I suppose some people might quibble that Stanley is sepia tinted throughout the episode but gets married in black …

Thanks “TG” for the photos and heads up.

BTW, the Toon is now officially available online for viewing …

You are never too old. My 11 year old is an avid Cars collector but still likes puchasing both old and new Thomas trains. He feels self-conscious buying Thomas but like Cars, they have been a great investment. If someone looks at him while we are looking at the display or if the checkout person says something to him, he says they are for his younger brother (he does not have a yonger brother).

Whatever it takes, keep on collecting. It is a great hobby.

Guys, I’d really like some reassurance…
I am now 16 and I have been collecting Cars Diescasts since the first releases in 2006. However, as I have got older I have felt more conscious about collecting. I still love doing it, but feel conscious of what people will think. I guess a lot of adult collecter’s do it because they have young children, etc. Consequently, do you think it is wired that I still collect, or do you think I should just ignore what other people think when they see me in the toy stores, etc. I would love to know if anyone has the same concerns as me.
    Thanks.

(MET: Collecting is fun as long as you don’t get obsessive or you’re giving up something more important (like eating or socializing … or reading T5 (whoops, sorry, got obsessive there) … it’s a hobby like any other – as long as it’s fun for you … and you as in YOU … thinks it’s fun … and remember, you don’t have to be complete complete – you can pare down your collection if it’s getting too large … and the other logical reason – unlike some other hobbies, CARS will always offer you a nice return on your money. Good luck!)

Wow, these are amazing. I can’t believe Mattel will actually make them. I dare them to make these, and to reissue Lizzie on a singles card.

Hopefully there are 2 Stanleys. The dressed down version (above); and a dressed up in black with white tires Stanley. Otherwise, it looks like Stanley didn’t even bother to dress up for his wedding.

Awesome! Can’t wait for Toons to be back.

My 5 year old son saw the pictures, and he loves them! I hope they do release these.

These might just be prototypes. Wedding Stanley would be black with white tires. Regular Stanley is brown with a darker hat and black tires. His water tank cap should be shiny brass.

These are SUPER cute and, as an adult, I’m dying to get my hands on them but I have to wonder aloud how much play value a Bride Doll Cars character offers to your average six-year-old boy or girl. Will they love this Lizzie because she is all pretty and unique and fancy-looking? Or will they shudder at the sight of her like the little boy I tried to convince that he needed Mary Esgocar to go with his Alex Hugo at Kmart Day 9? He politely obliged and took her but I could tell he thought she was yucky with girl germs and later I saw he traded her for a silver Francesco the store still had kicking around from Day 8. And that’s what he and his Dad bought. Notwithstanding, I will absolutely buy these. They are adorable. And since I have given up hope ever finding ANYTHING in Canada, I can only hope my favourite eBay sellers have multiple sets. I know people here disparage eBay but that is the only way I have ever found anything. Ever.

The FILM is sepia-tinted, not the Cars themselves. I think it’s ridiculous to make him sepia-tinted if that’s the plan, just as ridiculous as the Disney Store “Mater P.I.” characters.

I guess people must think their Grandparents really had gray skin when they were young…

Absolutely love the thought of these being released! Really can’t wait for it! Whoo hoo!

So cute! I hope they will come in a nice box set that will actually be easy to find.
