Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecast: Spy Train Carrying Case Launcher

The Spy Train Carrying Case (not Stephenson, Spy Train) is apparently also a launcher of some kind though it’s hard to tell just from the open pic …

Looks like a carrying case, but I don’t see anything screaming “launcher”. Are we sure it launches the cars? There is no mechanism visible for launching. Maybe a bit of a roller? 🙂 Just think, pretty soon we will have enough of these silly overpriced things to carry our entire collection of extras from buying multi-packs! By the time Christmas rolls around, there will have been at least 2 waves of clearance and a black Friday. If you need to collect, save your receipts or bide your time. haha I sound jaded, but I am right there with the rest of you buying this crap as soon as I find it. I just can’t help but feel like some of the magic is gone. Give me a mutha chunkin’ Chase car Mattel! Something to light the fires and kick the tires!!!

Now this one might be worth getting instead of the playset…unless the Action Agents one will fit on our Thomas track…Maybe TRU will put out a wood spy train. Then I know that will get played with.

From the picture this is how lauching works (My opinion):
Load the black upper tray with cars.
Press the button on the top of the head.
This will cause the black tray to drop on the side facing us in the picture
(In the backside you can see that the black tray is hinged on the other side)
This drop will align with the exterior ramp, thus launching your racers.

    Lather, rinse, repeat…

Met, is this one out already?

(MET: I do not think anyone has spotted it yet).

So is this “Spy-Train-Not-Stephenson” a different spy train, or have The Powers That Be simply decreed that his name is no longer “Stephenson?”
