Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: Deluxe Oversized Case Assortment Checklist

A Finn McMissile Sub for every room!

Red indicates first case apperance.

It’s hard to tell what the shipping dates are – so E might be as soon as this month or July … and the Pope/Popemobile listing is convoluted but I’m presuming the Pope himself will arrive before his car carrier but this listing might be backwards – more confirmation as we get closer as release might be until late summer-early autumn.

Thanks for the updated info, “Orchard Oriole.”

If this matrix is correct my Kmart put Case F out today. I was lucky enough to pick up Pinion and Kingpin. I say this was F because there were no Shiftwells in sight. Hopefully Pinion will be everywhere soon!

The Pope will be the hardest one. Someone will take offense and screw it up for us. FOLKS it’s a toy let us enjoy them!!!!

Submarine Finn McMissile is so going to be a Peg Warmer – even more so than Marco and Sven!

    • bobbyjack says:

You have to look really closely at those submarine Finns. You might find a hydrofoil Finn hiding amongst them. He blends in nicely with all the submarines.

    ORDERED 2 CASES EACH OF E, F AND G

has anyone got the Rod Torque Redline in the short card yet??? I found him about 3 weeks ago at one of the Targets here with several other short cards but noticed he was different from the long card… the big difference is that with the long card he is in metallic but in the short card, he is just blue with no metallic flakes… I just found that kind of strange… I guess they just wanted to save on some cost for the shorts??? I dunno…

    • jestrjef says:

The Rod is the TRU 5 pack is the same way … NON Metallic Blue … personally, I LOVE the Metallic Paint on the long card single 🙂

      • bobbyjack says:

That was one of the reasons why we passed on the TRU 5 pack. How do you have a damaged Rod Redline w/ metallic paint and an undamaged Rod Redline w/ flat paint???

Keep in mind the movie is ot out yet… A lot of them will be sold because theses cars have weapons and special gadgets. Kids just love these. How many dozens of thousands of kids will request to have several versions of Finn because of that?… I believe the main characters will be good sellers for several months. Most of the buyers are not collectors like us. I will say probably more than 95% of the customers who are buying these toys will never know the existence of this site… Let’s see if I am right or wrong about 4-6 months after the movie is out.

Isn’t it Finion Tanaka, not Pinion (too much like Pope Pinion!)

The font makes an F look like a P, but if you look on the poster it definitely says Finion.

  • Jack says:

I don’t know who’s list is off but I the case contents I have are 2 Popes and 2 Popemobiles in case G with the Queen not scheduled until a later case. That would make sense but I guess we will find out for sure soon enough.
I can’t wait for the Pope Mobile. My Prediction-The best selling or most sought after deluxe release Ever!

  • John says:

Met, maybe there’s a way to add the 3 packs with one Deluxe to this matrix?
While the assortments look skewed in isolation, maybe not so bad to get a set with pope/popemobile/padre, or queen/palace guard/palace guard or two Sumos/referee?

  • PirateDad says:

You have just got to wonder WTFrack Mattel is thinking?? Sometimes I think that the monkeys drank too much of Fillmores Special Blend?!?!

  • buckland-blowouts says:

Ya know the queen and the pope are gonna be hot ticket items eh!!!

    • John in Missouri says:

Yes, and thank goodness we’ll have two shots with two different cases, albeit only one Pope Pinion IV in the second one. Do you think that when these cases are opened, white smoke will bellow out?

      • John in Missouri says:

Maybe John Lasseter will go to Rome for the movie premier and present Pope Benedict with Pope Pinion IV, the Popemobile, and a Hawaiian Cars shirt.

  • cac1959 says:

I think they could leave Submarine Finn out of the next 6 cases and there’d still be plenty left for the next 6 months… maybe it won’t roll, but will it swim? After all, it is a submarine…

Looking at those case assortments, it’s not going to be easy to split cases with friends… They say those who don’t learn from their mistakes are destined to repeat them, and Mattel appears that they did not learn from the past…

  • bobbyjack says:

So I guess Submarine Finn will clog pegs everywhere much like Octane Gain and Chick Hicks Semi?
