Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: KM Cars Day 6 Revised
Now, it looks like the oddball 20 CARS to a case is correct – just as Mattel did that special 12-CARS case for Target’s Final Lap … Kmart might’ve asked Mattel for a 20-CAR case to cut down on the “leftover” non-racers so it looks like CARS 2 Lightning McQueen and Jeff Gorvette have been moved over to October.
Further evidence, there is a reference to 7 CARS for KM CARS Day #6 (June 2011) … and also the product codes for the rest of the racers (left over – the ones not available next month) are now “grouped together.”
It’s never dull.

Since I am probably going to miss this Cars Day, I am relieved at the lackluster list for this event. I guess I am not a true collector, as I don’t care about another LMQ just because it has rubber wheels. At least the TRU exclusive LMQ has a nice metallic finish. I am guessing, since the three Cars 2 are readily available in packs and launchers, that this Cars day will be sparsely attended.
So do these three Piston Cup Racers complete all of the rubber tires PC Racers, except for Apple? I don’t think Apple is the problem with the Apple car…I think it is Mattel. They must have something HUGE planned for it’s release. 😉
Yes, the “Cars 1” rubber tire collection will be 97.22% complete with these three.
I don’t think the problem is with Mattel; it is definitely with Apple. I’ve sent a couple of emails to them, and they send automatic replies with about 600 pages of Apple trademark legalese.
I think I will have Hi and Lo Ramone customized into the Apple iCar scheme,
and I will rename it “The High and Mighty Car”.

I am so glad my son has not noticed that we have no Apple car. Not even when King passes him on the racetrack does he say “Hey I don’t have him yet.” like he does whenever a car that he doesn’t have yet comes on the screen. Now that I have said that, that will be the first thing he says next time we watch Cars.

Oddly enough, I will COLLECT THEM ALL, BWAHAHAHAHA. But just one of each except for Ramone, of whom I will collect at least 3-4. Perhaps this KMart Day was made specifically with me in mind. I want to “finish off” my rubber tire set and start a Cars 2 rubber tire set and get the long awaited Ramone. Hopefully score some of their 2 pack exclusives. Maybe get a cool poster. Then head on over to the El Capitan for Cars 2 extravaganza, woot!

Will Lewis Hamilton, Miguel Camino, and Rip be the “Big 3” of Cars 2? The former and second were shown on TRU as launchers last week but dissappeared? No announcements about the latter, though. And, will the Cars 1 RV’s come out? 2013, maybe?
(MET: There is a list of about 8 launchers out or coming so TRU might’ve jumped the gun on the later ones).

Yes, and him and Lewis will reappear in a TRU 9 pack. But, I want to avoid extra duplicates just to get Miguel and Lewis. Plus, I like the launchers. BTW, the listings on TRU are gone. Met, do you have the list of the 8 launchers?
The sad part is that Ramone will probably be 1 or 2 to a case and he’ll be the only reason people go to the event.

All Cars movie lovers will want Von Dutch Style Ramone.
“Von Dutch style” refers to a type of highly-stylized pinstriping, not to the hydraulics (Von Dutch was the pen-name of one Kenny Howard, who popularized the style). Ramone apparently has some Von Dutch style pinstriping somewhere on his chassis, like the diff cover plate or something.
Stigette collects Ramones, so of course this one will be on my list. But it’ll be the only CAR from this assortment I’m interested in.
I was referring to when Mini was looking under Ramone, and said “Oh look Van, Von Dutch.”
It would be very cool if indeed Ramone had the pin striping underneath in the diecast.

I don’t think this is a bad assortment at all. When you think about it, why would they put Lewis, Rip, and other newer ones in this Kmart day mix? The ones that have come out will still be “new” releases for many. Just because we all have them already doesn’t mean they aren’t going to be desired by a new wave of fans.
Also, the Cars many of us have will of have been officially released for a little over a month when these hit!
I also personally love the rubber tire racers continuing into Cars 2. And to have as many of the racers as we do from C1 in rubber tire form is a pretty cool thing. All but one of them? Fine in my book!
And… technically even if they did include a rubber tire Apple, that would still be a minor variation to an existing release. right? 🙂
I’ll be heading to Kmart on the 25th… and eagerly awaiting the next Kmart day!!!

We cannot get Mattel to release the Apple iCar. The collection we are saying to complete is the Rubber Tire Racers collection. I sent you what will be in Kmart Day 6. Not sure where Sears.com team got their information.

Another Knart day I am not excited about. definitely taking some launchers back to Target though and be happy with the cheap singles.
A whole collectors day on 6 cars you have already with a different material wheels and 1 new car. Made even worse by having to read 500 posts on the day, the ordering etc.
I would be more excited about a new deluxe case with The Pope Mobile and new Sumo wrestler than this Kmart assortment.
I am going to have to write Kmart and Mattel to offer some advice on how to make day 7 much better. It’s almost like they don’t care how lame the assortment is. 1 new car, They really thinks that does it for us collectors?
Actually I am wrong because Ramone isn’t a new car just a variation of an oldie. So in actuallity no new cars, just call it slight variation day.

Just dissolve the company already and give all the buildings to Walmart and Target.

Agreed! Wal-Mart has been moving out of similar buildings in droves in favor of the huge brand new SuperCenters.
15 years from now Walmart, Target, and the Internet will have put all other retailers out of business. Shopping malls, supermarkets, shoe and clothing stores will no longer be able to compete and file for chapter 11. Don’t be suprised if Walmart starts selling automobiles next.
15 years from now, there will be no brick and mortar stores–just the interntet and e-delivery services.

I’ve already sent my mortgage to Las Vegas, betting on the fact that we’ll still see 4 pegwarmers in this case. If Mattel does NOT include 4 pegwarmers, they’re even more moronic than I previously thought.

I will still attend Kmart day 6. I will still only buy Hydraulic (High ‘n Low) Ramone, and then go see the movie again after leaving Kmart. Come on Apple Car in the Fall!
