Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Team Haulers Are Back … Mack & Nitroade

“Jack P.” looks like the first in the country to spot the return of Team Haulers … NEW to the Team Hauler lineup, Team Nitroade:

For the Pitty curious, the Pitty included  is the same WIDE Pitty include with the Nitroade Pitty Crew (International Release ONLY (so far)).

And the Pitty on the right from the Pitty Chief Crew release is the same as the single release – leaving the “Tall” Pitty in the middle as an exclusive to the Pitty Chief Crew.

AND the return of a very hard to find box set, TEAM RUSTEZE with Mack, My Name is Not Chuck and Lightning McQueen – all classic non-moving eyes versions.

This is the first release of Team Rust-Eze on the “Night Skyline Piston Cup Nights” motif.

To be technical, there was NO release of Team Rust-eze in the last motif release and the first since Race O Rama. So long time …

And yes, My Name is Not Chuck looks pretty much the same – so if you’ve waited for MNINC – he’s back.

TARGET ONLY!

Thanks for the great pics, “Jack P.”

BTW, if anyone can snap me a high res pic of NIGHT SKYLINE Team Dinoco, Team HTB & Team Leak Less, drop me a line. Thanks!

    Ladies & Gentlecars,

Even tho I’m no longer on the DPCars Line, I told the peeps in power there that we should continue to do ALL the Racer Haulers going forward. It’s like printing $.

However, it took me 2 years to convince them to just do the Haulers so what’s new?

Gotta love it………..the fun never stops 🙂

  • Wraukn says:

I saw these at a Target yesterday and a large supply of clearanced chief sets. And final laps ringing up at lenticular prices.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

    Nice set…

I just wish they would get rid of that ugly ‘Piston Cup Nights’ stripe on the box

  • Brown Fury says:

    NEEEEEEED the Nitroade crew!!

  • LUCA says:

    Jack..I neeeeed it!!!!!

  • BMW says:

Pass. Already have the racer (over and over, rubber tires, Dinoco 400, DB, SC, SOTS etc) Have the Hauler, and he has been pegwarming for a long time. Hugo Fast was a single, have plenty of him as single and again in the Chief set.

This set and most of the team sets are marketed for new collectors or grandparents to pick up as gifts for those who don’t already have them in previous releases, imo.

    • Jack says:

I agree that the hauler sets released so far are mainly aimed at newer collectors, of which there are still plenty. Almost daily I hear of another 4 year old or so that recently starting loving Lightning McQueen and the rest. The Cars Toons has also helped. These sets are perfect for parents just starting to build a collection. A hauler usually averages about 14.00 or so and you get a single and pitty. So the price is about right.
However Mattel makes sure they do include something different ( the pitty in this case) just to try and make the collector who wants every vehicle ever released buy the set.
The upcoming sets if this line is continued should be a bit more interesting though. Like The Bumper Save team. When collectors can only get the hauler and pitty by buying the set. Then these sets will be collector must haves.
An N20 cola, Easy Idle and bunch of other sets would be really sought after. Tachomint would be awesome! And how unbelievable would an Apple team be. Collectors would be sleeping outside Targets for that one.
Either way I hope they continue this line and give us a bunch of haulers, plastic tire racers and new pitties in this format.

Awesome find. I love these sets and all the different styles of pitties.

And perfect for me because I don’t even own nitroade or octain gain haulers. So buying the sets I would get all the pitties out and not duplicate anything.

  • Uncle Skip says:

Nice Jack… hit the stores on the 22 run today and found nothing new…

Just piles of Pit Crew Markdowns…

Had to read MNINC a few times to get that one Met… too much shopping today with the 2 year old I guess…

  • cac1959 says:

Very nice score, Jack… If I buy the Nitroade set, it will be just for the pitty, and I’ll send the racer and the hauler with my grandchildren for them to play with when they’re at their father’s… $22 plus tax for a pitty is a steep price… Mattel is making it difficult to collect them all…

Hopefully those who need the Mack/Not Chuck set will be able to find them… as I have one from the original design, I’m good on this too…

If Mattel wanted these to sell, they could have released a set with a new hauler and a new pitty… but they didn’t… Mattel is bound and determined to kill off this product line.

  • LUCA says:

    Jack..I neeeeeeeed them!!!!

  • mia, tia and njm says:

Target only! That’s the only bad part.

  • John in Missouri says:

Someone at Mattel obviously has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder — everything new has to be the same ol’ same ol’ — Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, Nitroade, Leak Less, all work and no play make Jack a dull boy. (not Jack P., the movie Jack!)

  • jestrjef says:

Nice Find Jack!! I do like these sets …. just wish they would do something NEW!!!!!!!!! Like Shiney Wax, Vitoline, FWD …. come on Mattel … its a great way to get SUPER COOL NEW PRODUCT OUT that would FLY OFF THE SHELF!!!! Same thing for the Pitty/Chief Sets!! 😀

    • John in Missouri says:

I can’t believe there hasn’t been a Rust-Eze Pitty & Chief set yet. I’d love to see them try one (or all three) of the Crew Chiefs that McQueen fired during his rookie season. Maybe custom versions of the Bumper Save, Octain Gain, and Dinoco chiefs?

  • PVHauler_16 says:

Nice! But still yet to find Bumper Save. Also, the wide pitty in that set is new, it has no impact gun/ wrech. The one in the crew set does. Now, on to Easy Idle, N2O, and others. Glad these are back. On a side note, the Christmas tree tree I ordered came in yesterday.

    • Jack says:

Thanks guys. Yes PV. You are right. This pitty is different and new. This is the wide pitty with now tool just like you wrote. It also has a different mouth than the other pitties. So just as Mattel did with the Octane Gain sets you are going to have to buy the hauler set if you want to have a complete collection of all pitties released.
Glad to see Not Chuck back. Many collectors still need him. The team Ruzt-eze is a great set for a newer collector.
Rob pointed out to me that so far the hauler sets released exactly mirror the crew Chief sets also released so far. I never realized it before but I believe he is exactly right.
So I guess there is a good chance we will see hauler sets with Easy Idle and N20 cola soon which were scheduled to be the next crew chiefs we were supposed to see. Those two sets would be hot. To get plastic tire versions of those racers with new haulers and pitties will be awesome.

  • NascarFan says:

Jack is in New York area.

Got these photos from him last night for my Utah members. Nice catch Jack

  • Mr. T says:

In what part of the world did you find these Jack?

    Nitroade crew….. cool….

definitely not going to buy the hauler for just the pitty.

Are these going to be shelfwarmers too??
