Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Last Lenticular 3-Pack?

This looks like the last lenticular 3-pack for 2010 has hit the US shelves …

The first lenticular release of Matti & Bert.

This is the last case for 2010 … we’ll have to wait and see if the three packs continue in 2011 – do they switch back to ‘classic’ eyes?

shouldn’t have to beg customers to buy items, if public doesn’t like lenty’s then sell them classics.

    and the plot thickens.

One day my son (4 years old) saw a lenticular on the peg, took it, examine it and then look at me and with is very concerned face and says; “Ohhhh nooooo is broken!!!”… Truth come from kids mouth isn’t it ? πŸ™‚

  • buckland-blowouts says:

They are all good for me – I just want more cars!!!

  • Dunroamin says:

I believe the Dinoco 3 pack is new also, as lenticular?

(MET: oops, oh yea, forgot that).

    • PVHaulerNo.16 says:

Are the Mias and Tias in the 3 pack gold or Dinoco? The non lenny versions of that pack are gold. Is that a mistake, or a new configuration? And, what happened to the Showgirls and Todd packs?

(MET: Dinoco Mia & Tia … as of right now, there are no more 3-packs listed by hey, check back in January).

    • Dunroamin says:

I believe I’m the only one on the planet that:

      A: Likes the lenticulars
B: Buys all the lenticulars…even if I have the fixed eye version πŸ™‚

oh well…atleast the cars will appear to follow me with their googly eyes as I walk across the room

      • Alex says:

No worries, I like them too. I buy all of them too, but I wish they would just stick to one line. Really, its just easier that way!

          • PVHaulerNo.16 says:

I love the lenticulars too! Just kidding! I hate them beacause:
            1. The eyes are so awful
            2. Mattel should just stick to 1 line, and that’s the classics.
Goodby lennys, and good riddance. You will not be missed. I think you are the only 2 who actually like them.

            • Fillmore1234 says:

I dont get why ppl bring such a fight on the Lentys; I actually think they are better than the Originals! (just kiddin, the Originals will always be my favorite) My Dash Boardman that i got from the K-Mart day may be my favorite car because of the great eye expressions! I love it how just one smile and two different eye expressions make the Car look completely different!

Overall, I like the Lenticulars. They are a very fun addition to Cars, although I don’t like how I got sucked into re-buying the Cars I already had. πŸ™ Oh well!

            • Dunroamin says:

              Hate is such a strong word… πŸ™

      • WillsCars says:

I like the lenticulars to. Some are much better than others. I would bet that those who hate lenticulars are the minority. Keep in mind these sites have a very small concentrated group of people from around the world posting. I asked the nine collectors that showed up at Kmart Cars day if they collect lenticulars. All of them said yes and none of them said they post on any CARS collectors sites. Then the only other collector I ran into in 3 1/2 years of collecting (not counting Kmart Cars Day) at a store said the same thing. One thing I have learn in every hobby or sport I’ve been part of, there is always a vocal minority who feel they speak for everyone. It has been said that lenticulars are peg warmers so that’s proof no one likes them. You would have the same peg warmers if they were fixed eyes.
(By the way, the Fixed eyed cars are much closer to being β€œgoogley” then Lenticulars. πŸ˜‰ )

  • John in Missouri says:

I found this same thing a week ago in the Walmart in Sedalia, Missouri of all places.

  • CaptainChunk says:

Let’s hope that’s the end of those god-awful eyes. We haven’t purchased a single 3 pack since they switched to lenticulars.
Mattel needs to start releasing the Final Lap cars in 3 packs through other retailers. I’m tired of finding nothing on the pegs at Target.

    • quercy says:

Agreed, I just came back from Target and the pegs are pretty much empty for several weeks now…. Where are Valdez, Pit Crew sets and all the cars they must release before the end of the year?

  • eagleeclipse says:

Im so tired of the lenticular eyed cars. The only ones I have are those that are chase. They may be fun for the kids, but as for an adult collection they look rather tacky. All the stores around me are filled with them.

  • L8rM8r says:

Lets hope they make the switch back to the regular eyes, but you can’t count on anything. I haven’t seen the WM non-lenticular 4 packs yet, but have faith that they will replace the dreaded lenticular 3 packs.
