Van, van the man (CAR) with stickers?
“PistonCupChampion” reports in his Walmart (North VA) … has gotten some new sidekicks …
“it includes Chase Van with the previously missing bumper sticker. My store received three sidekicks; one had two Chase Vans.”
For some reason – I cannot find my WM sidekick photo so you’ll just have to use your imagination – you’ll find them hanging on the side of a aisle near the endcap – currently they are blue … with CARS. Um, good luck!
Thanks for the update, “PistonCupChampion” – sounds like most of the other CHASE CARS, they all arrive in due time and in greater quantity than first imagined.

Found Van with Stickers (with Sticker) last night 6/6 WalMart Polaris, upper Columbus, Ohio – first sighting here out of 9 WalMart stores. Cars aisle location pegs loaded with lent’s, only 1 Van and he was in a side-kick.
Just wanted to point out that Van With Stickers is a title that signifies a plural being. In other words, since “Stickers” is plural, there should be more than one sticker on Van With Stickers! And since I do not count the license plate as a sticker, there is only one sticker on the bumper trying to credit Van’s good name! So, Mattel, please either put another sticker in addition to the one there (or is supposed to be there in some cases!) or simply drop the plural annotation of “Stickers”…omitting the last letter “S” in Van’s title. Thank you for not tricking unsuspecting parents into thinking the little booklet on the bottom of the car is actually a package of “STICKERS”!!!!!! Hence, another fallacy for “Van With Stickers”!

5 more with Nice Butte Sticker today found by my son in San Antonio all at 1 Walmart. product code on all with the sticker is the same 0740 EAB. I found another sans sticker yesterday on the tall blue 3 wide sidekick and left it for someone else to find. Crazy distribution again.

Asked the “so-called” Toy Mgr about the display or “new” cars in general – “don’t know what you’re talking ’bout”?
Talked with Store Mgr – “we only get what corporate sends us – have you tried another Wal-Mart store”???
Another WM store? This store and K-Mart are the ONLY stores within 60 miles!!!
Van with stickers is on the shelves in the UK (or one now in my drawer) along with Fred with Fallen Bumper….
There was more than one Fred on the pegs too, but I only bought one as I hate it when people bulk buy to make money by selling on ebay – being kind is what makes the world go round!

Last week I called Mattel customer service about getting my non-stickered Van replaced with a real one since the packaging was incorrect. The lady took down my information and yesterday I received a $4 coupon to use towards another Mattel purchase. Although this wasn’t what I was looking for, it was a nice gesture from Mattel. Even though I think I’ve spent close to $2,000 on cars so far, $4 doesn’t seem much right? 😀 Wow, now that I think about it I could have bought a REAL car!
The WM by me I’m sure won’t get this because they didn’t get the last one. I was there last night and there was no sign of it. But I was able to find the 2010 Collector Guide Dragon LMQ at TRU

Their not called Sidekicks, they are called Side Caps, like an End Cap.
In retail you have End Caps, Side Caps, Wing Stacks, and Clip Strips.
There are also Gravity Fed Side Caps that hold items and they fall down
as people take the item from the bottom. Refill at the top.
Sounds reasonable enough. All of the WM employees around here call them sidekicks or sidekick PDQs. 🙂
FWIW, while End Cap and Side Cap are common retail terminology, the shipping carton in fact says “Cars Character Car Sidekick.”
The last couple days were pretty hot in here and I was thinking to buy a windshiled sunshade for my car, then I was wondering if they have ones with eyes from CARS… and they did!!! Here is my next purchase…. My son will love it!

The Fred with Fallen Bumper is disappointing. The bumper is still attached and too close to his face. They could’ve done this car so much better. As someone said, it looks just like Fred with Stickers.

The cars seemingly no one wants: more lenticulars. LOL. Seriously though, it’s the same assortment as the 24-piece case assortment, so Chuki, Mario, etc. Nothing new.

The sidekicks at the WM stores around us are all Toy Story 3 and Iron Man 2 areas, so I’ll be surprised if Cars gets another shot at those prime spots. 🙁
So the burning question is: Which one will end up being the rarity?

All the first release International ones were without stickers we know. But the International ones now have the stickers too, and a correct one International version just sold on ebay for 30.00 with stickers.
So it depends on how many “error” ones got out before Mattel fixed the sticker problem. And will Mattel flood the market with the corrected ones?
Any one want to bet which will be the most common?
I have seen 4 without and 9 with sticker so far. My guess ‘with sticker’ will be more common, but also retain it’s value better, since most people will want the sticker.
