Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Lenticular Final Lap Check List – March 2010

Since there seems to be some confusion as to what NUMBERED singles are coming as lenticular and what as Final Lap, here is the latest listing.

Keep in mind, the ones on each list that are NOT released are just items on a list – for instance, Race Official Tom was not on the lenticular single but whoop, there it is … just like there were CARS in last years collectors guide that was never released in 2009 … so if it’s on the list, it’s likely to come out but until you see a photo of it in packaging* … it’s always a definite maybe.

* Or it might come out only in a box set.

There is a couple changes from the last version. Since it looks like STICKERS FRED is being released as a lenticular, does it mean previously non-lenticular chase CARS are okay to be re-released? Maybe – so I left more blank. This list does not really note the eye differences between the lenticular waves so that’s another checklist.

There are a few CARS on the lenticular list NOT on the Final Lap list but presumably they will come out as non-lenticular first – like Tim Rimmer.

Now that chase CARS are lenticular, I presume that mans the breaking of the rule that it has to be released first as a non-lenticular – otherwise, it’s not much of a CHASE but no way to know for sure until we get more cases in.

Good luck!

Where can I buy 2010 Disney pixar Cars diecast?

  • mZ.jL says:

Hi! I’m new at the whole Cars Collection bonanza and was wondering if the color on the name labels make any difference?

    (MET: Color?)

  • Mara says:

So are there non-lenticular Chase metallic King and Bling Bling McQ or are they all lenticular?

    (MET: There were prototypes …).

  • penquintom says:

    Excellent work!

  • Jonny2Scarves says:

I thought that number 116, Pit Crew Sarge, was available as both lenticular and Final Lap? You have X in the Final Lap box. I’m sure i have the non-lenticular version!

Those are toooooo cute! Where can I get them? 🙂

  • lou says:

    MATTEL:

Just saw Vern, Jay Limo & KIng Chasse Lenty eyes just sitting on the shelf at TGT and TRU. This would never happen if they were fixed eyes! These items would be SOLD. ARE YOU LISTENING, THE PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE THE SHIFTY, GOOGLY EYES. You are losing money due to your inability to acknowledge market demand or I should say lack of demand.

    • I-am-speed says:

Please tell me you didn’t walk away and leave the Ransburg King on the peg just because of his lenticularity! The King, in his metallic finish, is at the top of the Chase cars if you ask me, googly or not.

  • Ryan says:

MET, so Mario McKay, Tim Rimmer, Marco Axelbender, Waitress Mia and Waitress Tia are not likely to ever come out as non-lenticulars at all? So as of now, will those be the only five (other than Chase Cars) that will only be lenticular ever, and never (as of what we know now) come out as non-lenticular?

In other words, are these the only five for now that I will have to worry about as having to buy lenticular?

(MET: Welll, anything scheduled as a single, I’m going to presume it’s still coming as a non-lenticular first (even if it’s by hours like the last batch) and it seems the general agreement is that they are non first so it still seems likely we will see any of the “3-pack” CARS first as a non … so will we actually see non-lenticular 3-packs? ??? The next one coming is all ‘repeats’ so not likely but the Mia & Tia one with Flo … maybe not a 3-pack something like the TRU 5-pack would count … along with some couple repeat CARS?)

  • Ryan says:

MET, you have two number 116s listed, and also have Ransburg DJ at 115 and 116 both.

  • lostends says:

Thanks!!! Your checklists are the only thing keeping my collection in order.

  • Daniel says:

    Thanks for the list.

Now I have a “Do NOT Buy” List for the wife.

  • John in Missouri says:

Oh no, “Fillmore / Filmore” on the list above just confused 45 collectors, 30 of whom will run to their retail stores in a mass panic to find “Filmore”!

(MET: How’s the time machine working? 🙂 ).

  • beast1997 says:

lenticular other format does that mean not carded ? if so why is antonio listed as other format? and now hes on a card that kind of debunks the whole list right there does it not?

(MET: He was listed that way because he was available first in a 3-pack).

  • lou says:

whatever happened to the Mood Springs Pitty??

    • John in Missouri says:

Vern the Taxi took him for a ride, and he’s never been heard from again. When questioned by Sheriff, Vern just shifted his eyes a few times and drove away with his attorney, Triumph Gloria Axle-rot.

(MET: Looks like we need some CARS wacky cards … is that they were called? 😆 ).

      • michele says:

dang those shifty eyes, vern must be lenticular.

      • michele says:

You do great work Met! and thanks for all the checklists!!!! but right now I am still feeling overload confusion!!! Just want one car of each character and right now there are too many variations going on. And with so many coming out at once in so many different lines, I am falling behind. Can’t seem to find anything in my area. last new car I found was one-eyed mater, and I didn’t even get the other two new ones in that case. Can anyone list me all the new ones released since then, including cars toons and chase cars. Just so I know what to look for. H…E…L…P……..I’m …. fading….fast………………

(MET: Well, the numbering is done by Mattel so while Lightning McQueen #1 comes in different packaging, he is essentially the same* … now, the next numbered McQueen’s are some of the many guises he appears as in the film – “Crusin’ through town, etc, etc … of course, that is 100% up to you what you decide to collect but this is a complete list of the SINGLES … there is a more complete checklist HERE that includes EVERYTHING released**

        * In 2009, they finally updated his back spoiler to include the Rust-eze logo which is more correct.

** Might need an update but a good starting point.
But sounds like it’s time for a line update 🙂 … maybe tomo).

  • jestrjef says:

WOW! Great work. I love these checklists. It certainly makes it easier for us to organize and chase. Thanks Met and Tiz for all you do for us! 🙂
