The stories are a well executed expansion of the Cars Universe. It could have gone horribly wrong, but it didn't. The stories are consistent with what we know about the characters and add depth and richness to them as well as introducing interesting new characters. Hoodwinked is my boys' favorite, although I think its because I read them the whole story with my Mater accent. I like the Flo and Ramone romance the most I think.
