Gil has surfaced and is breathing!
Apparently, Gil is arriving in the same manner as the Mater Tall Tales singles, Storytellers and everything else CARS related in September – a dribble here, a dibble there and some nibbles to and fro … so now you see him here but now you do not see him in a store 2-miles away – why?

Or scary turkey leg from giant CARS-land turkey plus intestines … but maybe that’s just me 🙂

Does the oval with the drums and springs come off? I would like to know? Mine won’t, and I want it out.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site. I live in Maryland and there are plenty of Gil in stock at Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us here.
Specifically, I live in Baltimore but work in Rockville. So, I have traveled everywhere in between my 2 hour commute to build my/son’s collection. This week, I lucked out and found the 3-pack Michael Schumacher Ferrari and the 2 Maseratis.

Took me until today (October 7, 2009) to see my first Gil at a Target in Orlando FL
Seen tons of Gils here in NW Georgia.
Well, I finally got my GIL.
Now all I need is the Wally Hauler and I’ll have them all, except
of course for the Apple Custom Hauler.
Also, checked my Target today and nothing on the DCPI Rubber Tire cars.
Not really liking the $30 for the Boot Camp though.
I know were getting a lot of cars in there but the paint colors
on the Boot Camp guys are really aweful looking.
I agree. I am not sold on the Boot Camp guys price or appearance. I think I am going to pass on them.

Well, I will take a Starbucks trailer any day! I found my Jerry Recycled Batteries at a K-Mart on the bottom shelf behind the big play-sets, so, I’m hoping for the same ‘luck’ this time around!
My husband practically straight-armed a 6 year-old in a 24-hour Wal-Mart, in So-Cal, just after midnight as he made a bee-line to the Cars haulers. He said he saw what looked to be Gil’s hiney on it’s side and a kid saying “Ooh Mom, look! Cars!” at that same instant. So he squeezed between their cart and the Cars saying “‘scuse-me'” and *Yoink*. I did the Seated ‘Dance of Joy’ (remember Perfect Strangers?) as he returned to the car triumphantly with white plastic bag in tow.
GIL IS MINE!!! Muah-ha-ha!!!
Oh, and I don’t feel one bit sorry for that kid. What was he doing shopping for toys after midnight??? On a weeknight???

Gil found in our small town wal-mart in CO this afternoon. He was just sitting there like he owned the world, 2 gils, 1 nitroade, 1 chick and 8 trunk fresh. My debit card was at home but they are holding gil for me.
That stock selection sounds exactly like Maryland. The only difference is that we have about 8 Gils instead of 2.
Call me a fool but I haven’t bought Gil, yet. For one, there are so many here that I haven’t felt the need to get him. Secondly, I am don’t remember his spot in the movie so he hasn’t been a priority.
Right now, I am stuck on Bob Cutlass, Red, Stanley, Lizzy, and generic Piston Cup racers such as Trunk Fresh.

That’s the funny thing…..Optimus Prime has been done as both a cabover and a conventional(long-nose) semi/tractor…..could be made using Gil or Mack, depending on the version of OP you’re going for?
Hmmm, didn’t find any Gil’s this weekend, but while at the Fred Meyer by me, I did pick up the Nitroade hauler! They had three there, so I picked one up; went back the next day and they still were there, go figure.

There were a few Gil’s at the Walmart in Missouri City, TX this weekend. I also came across a Chase Dinoco McQueen with Piston Cup and Nitroade Hauler at Target.

Charlie, did you get all of them? The Missouri City Walmart is a little far for me to get to. My closest Walmart on 6 didn’t get them yet.
I only grabbed one, but I think there were 3 or 4. Every time I go to that Walmart, I find something – once it was a Rev’N’Go Lightyear Launcher, this time Gil.
If I head back there, should I get the rest for redistribution?

Do we really know what the contents of Gil’s trailer are supposed to be?
He’s hauling a “reefer”, a refrigerated trailer(the cooling unit’s on the front), so he’s trying to keep something cold.
Can the small grey part underneath the trailer that sustaines it move? Or does it stay like that?
If you’re referring to the “landing gear”, as it’s referred to on actual trailers, the answer would be “no”. In this case, it’s short enough to allow the truck and trailer to roll when attached, but still long enough to support the trailer when detached….a good compromise of the real-world design, where the “feet” move up and down to create enough ground clearance when in transit. Hope that helps.

Don’t know if anyone needs a Nitroade hauler, but there’s some available on Amazon for 14.99. I don’t know how much new haulers in the wild are since I can’t seem to find them in the LA area.

ooh stockton, I live in Modesto…I have only found Trunk Fresh & Octane Gain haulers & I don’t want those. No Gils here as far as I can tell, but I haven’t been to all of the stores in a while.

So far at WalMart. He is out in several states. Texas, Tennessee, have reported findings.
