Of course, we already know the 5 CARS that will be released along with Mater in the box set.

Of course, the book is called MATER SAVES CHRISTMAS so I think you can guess what the general direction the story will be going in and what the resolution will be 🙂

And a CAR that was in the planning stages but was not completed in time for Christmas 2009 so we might see it next Christmas?
Yep, SANTA CAR …
Santa is a Dusenberg … (where we get the phrase, “it’s a doozy!”)
And he was going to be in a box set with a bunch of reindeer (snowmobiles) …
So we’ll see if Christmas CARS returns in 2010 with new additions and possibly SANTA CAR & his ill reindeer but for now … (2009) … this is what we’ll be getting …

Brief Review – unlike the Mater Tall Tales which were all funny – frankly, the Mater Saves Christmas is not much of a book or story – the diecasts are great and I definitely want Santa CAR but the storyline is derivative and contrived but maybe that’s just the 7-year old cynic in me 🙂 so diecasts look great and car designs look great – book, me’h.
On the other hand, while at Amazon, definitely pick up …Â Pixarpedia (Amazon link).

well at least we get another year to help save for Santa the Doozy!
Has anyone heard if target is planning Halloween cars this year? MET?
(MET: I don’t think so … if they are – it might be MINI’s – they just appear out of nowhere).
I hope that after this years’ Christmas Cars vaporize the millisecond they hit the shelves, we will get to see some real Halloween Cars next year (Cone Fang Mater? No one would buy THAT!).
I love how Disney does Halloween and can hardly wait to go to Disneyland for Mickey’s Trick or Treat this year.
Nice I just watched a special on the Dusenberg, that would be a pretty cool car. I wonder if it will be as expensive and exclusive as the original Dusenbergs were.
I got my email from Amazon the other day that my book was on its way. Hopefully it comes when the kid is in preschool so he doesn’t see the package!
The Expanded Universe excites me MORE than the originals…. Bring em on!!!

Wow! Santa car with reindeer??? That would be awesome! I haven’t gotten the book yet – looked at Borders over the weekend. They said I could preorder it… so I will wait a little bit. But all these diecasts would be so much fun to have. Elves – most definitely! But you have to bring Martin back to sculpt them Mattel 👿

There is hope for motorcycle enthusiasts! It looks like the reindeer are the first “open bodied” Cars characters.
