Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: JL Signature Series Preview (Part II)

Part I of the highly detailed 1:55 “plused” CARS was in yesterday’s post.

And now, the display box … it certainly adds to the allure of it …

top-down

There was some confusion in my post yesterday when I used the word ‘maybe.’ Just to clear matters up, this is DEFINITELY the JL Signature Series Lightning McQueen and all the detailing, etc, etc … the ‘maybe’ refers to IF it might get the Ransburg treatment.

The fact that MATTY & MATTY only is driving this JL Series CARS bus-o-rama does not exactly fill me with confidence either in pricing, distribution or marketing.

In other words, how exactly many will be in this series and while we will line up to buy Lightning McQueen or Mater and a few others, can Matty actually figure out how to drive this to its logical conclusion or will the warehouse have 7,000 left over of release #6 so they will call it a night?

I mean, we’ll most likely have a gorgeous McQueen & Mater in a nice sublime box but will this be more of a broken promise than an actual series? I fear the worst … that’s all I’m saying … I have no quibbles on its craftsmanship, artistry and production … I just don’t want to get in a leaky rowboat manned by Matty who claims he’s headed over there thataway  … :-/  🙂

The art part is great as usual but is the delivery method by a donkey led by a monkey carrying potted meat sandwiches something we should trust will work on perfectly?
