Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Target & WM Shopping Update Feb ’09

First, apparently it’s Bizarro Walmart all over most of America – they do NOT want us to buy things … other than the Heaven WM (All the CARS + 50% Off Ammo πŸ™‚ ).

“Umgriz” sends us this photo (will the DMV let you have Umgriz? πŸ™‚ )

NOW. this is a WAYBACK machine … back to June 2006 … I was in WM that had a SC RPM & Leak Less so if you’re hoping to pick up some Supercharged cards or even some Desert Back, check out your WM. I guess they did a serious, serious backroom cleaning …

At Target, there are pretty reliable rumors that Octane Gain has showed up at some stores, which makes the timing right from the air freight arrival at CTC to the by-ship shipment to Target … and of course, it will take a while for it to filter to distribution-warehouse & the store shelf. Hopefully you’ll see it on your store shelves soon – maybe this also means there is a restock on the Team Haulers and maybe even the exclusive Target Movie Moments …

So, snap us some pics if you see anything new!

So, what does it mean for hauler collectors? Well, as noted previously, as Direct Import items, we knew that CTC would air freight them in – anyone who is Direct Importing andΒ  using freight by ship could tack on another 3-4 weeks and then if it’s winding its way from warehouses to distribution, etc … make it 5-6 weeks after CTC? So, that’s the chance and wait you take. Especially with Target, we have no idea. They could get Leak Less on the store shelves in 4 weeks? Or maybe 6 months? They could skip a few CASES or they could order tons of one (like the Octane Gain case) and take 3 shipments off. There is no rhyme nor particular reason. Until we get some pattern or info from the big three, all I can do is tell you here are the possible scenarios

BTW, the NEW price for Haulers seems to be $13.99 at Target & $21.99 for the Team Haulers … so Target or Mattel might be tacking on the price of shipping?

TRU? Well, they seem to be easing into 2009 … though lots of TP & paper towels … however most TRU seems to have gotten at least one case of the CASE A of the Haulers but surprisingly, they have not really committed to them …
