Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Mainline Singles “2009″ CASE B Hitting Stores

As reported a while back, CASE B contents matches the original list … and the good news is that it doesn’t look like WM made the land-grab this time as many people are reporting CARS CASE B on shelves at Target … of course, as Target tends to order one or display only one case at a time, good luck with all that …

    Yes. Unfortunately the pictures of chase mario, chase ferrari and chase chuki are the same as the regular version of the car so who knows what’s “chase” about them

    from what i heard chuki will be in japaneze packaging and italian for ferrari and then maybe red rim mario as the picture is out so will that be the chase part?

  3. I’ve seen findings of this case on certain other Cars forums, and it bothers me that everyone who’s found them has either bought a case worth, or multiple cases worth. And these are the same people the complain about the evil “ebaliens”, yet they are doing the exact same thing: Hoarding them all to themselves and not leaving any for anyone else. Pathetic.

    Looks like there are only 2 each of the new Cars in the cases. I don’t see buying two of each new one as “hoarding” or “pathetic”.

    I typically buy 2 or 3 of each new Car. One (or two) for my little guys and one for me. I really don’t see anything wrong with that.

    I don’t think Hilary was complaining about people that buy multiple Cars for multiple kids. There are collectors that do not open blister packs and collect the packaging as art forms. There is a definite problem that is arising due to the antics of Mattel. The case assortment does not serve the public. Two per case of new castings does not meet the needs of the collector and casual toy buyer/player. This also creates the perception of a rarity and thus something to hoard. I do recall someone on this site indicating they had 20+ of a chase car. Mattel is killing the golden goose. One of the grandmothers I buy for has told me to stop buying for her because the grandson has moved on to transformers. When a person cannot locate a simple toy because of insufficient supply, jacked up prices, etc, s/he will move on to another interest.

    There are over 500 Star Wars action figures in C-10 blister packs on the playroom wall, C-10 large space ships, C-10 large figures, etc. There is hardly any market for all the stuff which my son decided he has no use for.

    It doesn’t take too many persons in a given locale to destroy the fun of Cars. I ran across two fresh cases of Cars at WM today with two chase Fred’s hanging there. I left them because myself and whoever I buy for already has them. I could have bought them and inventoried them as a future retirement source. I also saw another hanging at K-Mart. More comments below.

    I’m with you. The chase car concept will contribute to the premature demise of much collector interest. Collectors really hate holes in their collections due to market manipulations. Also, how many Cars can you stick a boot on?

  6. am i the only person who thinks that the impound tuners should be more of a variant than just a yellow plastic boot?
    mattel could have at least stretched to doing diferent expressions for them, it is a chase car! so extra detail and effort should be put into it!

    I bought the 3-DVD set of Wall-E yesterday at Wal-Mart for $34.97 (OUCH!!). I went by again today and noticed that most of the cheaper ones were gone, but there was the whole row of $34.97 DVD’s still there! Maybe I should return it unopened and get it from Amazon.com for $22.97…

    that’s what it looks like, I specifically asked the guy to look up the UPC of the haulers, he said what are you looking for, that he’d probably know without looking it up. I told him the disney cars haulers, he said they’re on a pallet but can’t be put out until next friday. I called the other day too and they are in the system. here’s hoping we get some, my son is stoked!

  17. Not sure where to post this, but if you have Walgreens in your area, it may be worth checking. I stopped there last night to pick up a prescription and checked the toys (they always have a couple of Ramones hanging there for like $5) but they added the mini 2 packs for $6.99 but had a case of movie moments there also for only $6.99 each. You could tell that they basically opened the case and just set em behind the other stuff but they had Tow Cap/Gasprin, Red and Stanley, No Stall and Leakless x2, Dinoco Mia and Tia x2, etc. May not be a bad place to look if you’re lacking those movie moments.

    PirateSon earned a new car yesterday, and he chose Smell Swell to open for his collection! He rips it open and takes a long whiff of him, like it is a fine cuban cigar and proudly says…He does Smell Swell…I was rolling on the floor laffing and he just kept sniffing away!!!

    (MET: Salutin’ Sarge is on the chase list but sadly, Sarge Sarge is not officially on any lists … which may not mean anything but also means it’s not obviously pending … Pit Crew sarge is definitely not on any lists anymore … but once Sarge returns, that is an easy fix …).

    Some Targets are getting case B in the Los Angeles area. I saw 6-8 each of RPM Crew Chiefs and Tank Coat Pittys on the pegs this morning at one store and about half those numbers at a Target within 10 miles. The other Targets in my area had none last night so it is hit and miss. Incidentally all Impound Boosts had already been taken so someone is grabbing just the Chase cars or at least it looks that way.

    Where in LA? I had success in the San Fernando Valley yesterday. Struck out in the San Gabriel Valley but that was two days ago. My work travel sometimes takes me to the South Bay or around Pico Rivera but that is only once a month.

  29. I just scored the new ones this morning at TGT including chase Boost. Even though I am not a completist I also bought Dale and Edwin on the ROR cards just for the heck of it.

    Met- why does Cief RPM not match the picture on the card? It looks like a different car?? Also when does night scope McQueen come out? Sorry if i missed that post.

    Thats true about Chief RPM but the picture totally looks like a different car. Does anyone else agree?

    In the movie, Chief RPM is a white car. He appears very briefly on top of the pit box in one of the pit stop scenes. His character was not featured in the Blu Ray car finder game.

    Met I just sent you a picture of Chief RPM on the card. The actual car is a very dark yellow and the color on the card is a light yellow. Looking at it now the car on the card is definately different.

  30. I just had a great idea before I travel for Thanksgiving. I think I will go to my Wal-Mart tonight and buy up EVERY pegwarmer.

    I would ask the cashier to ring up multiple orders: one for all the Lightning Ramone’s, one for all the Cactus McQueen’s, one for all the Green Ramone’s, etc.

    Then, over the next few days, I would see how many new cases they’ve had in storage and thus put out.

    Finally, on my trip next week, I will pass at least 7 other Wal-Marts. I would stop by each one, and return each group for refunds.

    Actually I think Bupkus was one of the fans at the California Speedway. He sat in Section 104, Row BB, seat 12. So if you indeed found him, he’s gotta be worth a fortune!

  31. Got to TGT a little too late today. Found the remnants of Case B, 2 Tar MQ’s and Chick Hiicks were the giveaways. Somebody had already cleaned out all of the new(er) cars.

    They did have tons of Story Tellers, Race & Chase, and Meet at Flo’s Mini packs. :(

    have seen some old woc case for days on the shelf spotted a ror tex in the back of them just 1 ror scanned it by the price check said more in back came out with a brand new sealed case b ror yesssssss!!
    scanned again still more back there suprised being target usually orders 1 case even tho even the old cars sell out at my local trgt

    I did that too, the backroom TM came out with all the cars on a tub and I got to pick out of a brand new case. Never hurts to ask you know! I scored Tank Pitty, Chase Boost, Chief RPM and Edwin. I am SO hard on waiting for my kids to open them on Xmas…I might give in a little early.

  37. Well all my searches today were a bust!! Actually worse than that . . . I feel like I went back to the stone age, or maybe CANADA (that one is for you PirateDad)!!

    I went to TRU today and they had ROR case A weeks agao. I figured I might smell case B. GET THIS . . . .

    They got in 3 cases of old WOC Cars! The got in Pit Crew Quido, Tom and big Fred buy the bushell! all of them said “NEW” on the card. I cannot even remember what case that was! I about died!! Looks like TRU won’t be worth visiting for about a month!

    To add to that misery, I stopped at a Sears essentials that got case A ROR in a couple weeks back and they too were invaded by the EXACT SAME CASE OF OLD WOC THAT TRU GOT!! Cannot belive it!

    Bah humbug!! I am sure I will be beating down the doors at Target now that these two stops are off my list for a while!!

    That’s funny that you say that as I’ve noticed the same cases lately at both Target and Kmart. It would be strange that all these stores have been sitting on the same old cases in the back and bring them out at the same time. Maybe Mattel is trying to clear out the Warehouse and make room for some new stuff!

    Our Target got an old case two weeks ago too - one with an old Fred because it said “New” on it. Yeti was also on the pegs. Not sure what case was that but I was shocked. Perhaps they are cleaning out the warehouse? who knows…

    Thanks Ricky - that actually helped me convince the Target employee to retrieve some new cases for me. Funny how they always refuse to go back and grab stuff from the backroom when I just ask but if I ask with the DPCI # they seem much more accomodating.

  39. My TRU is the same way. Looks like they were holding ALOT of cases back until the pegwarmers sold. Also, they just now put out the WOC Movie Doubles (which are no big deal). Unfortunately for them, I bought many cars at Target during all of these months that the TRU was full of Yellow and Green Ramones. The same thing also happened at a Wal-Mart I visited recently. I saw the Dinoco Helicopter with the NEW snipe. Santa brought that for my little boy LAST Christmas.
