    (MET: They claim to making 20,000 of them and I have a feeling they are making 20,000 cases and it’s the logical and lazy conclusion - that way they don’t really have to think about it - Mattel seems to pack up one shipment, put it out there, when it sells out, it sells out … BUT I don’t want anyone to tell me they bought a case , it’s sealed and there’s no ’stickers’ McQueen so I’m hedging my bet in saying I have no idea how many cases Mattel makes and sells but if you promise not to come to stone me, I would think your odds are pretty good when you buy a case … er, FACTORY SEALED case …).

  7. How does the eBay guy in Australia have it already? Wasn’t there and Aussie on here saying that they don’t get them for months after we do?

    Maybe the Australian eBay guy owns all the WM, TGT, and TRU on the island!! :)

  10. I hope I can get one as well….. We will see. I don’t know if anyone collects the minis, but when I was at Walmart today they had an end cap display of 3 variety 3 packs of the minis for 10 bucks. Well off to bed and hopefully will score one of the chase cars soon.

  11. I emailed the guy in AU and asked. He claims he got them from a wholesaler but they have the tar spot on them which leads me to think they are not real. I will be waiting to get one in packaging. His are all loose.

  12. just to let you guys know i have a great contact in the uk, tis week he got, stickers, tumbleweed, smell swell all mqueens obviously, also retail lightning storm & sponsorless mq.retro ramone and large scale blimp. if anyone wants any let me know and i will talk to him also on the down side none are on cardbacks thats how new tey are, virtually out the back door of the factory. just leave a comment,

    If you look at the last pic in this post, it has the tar spot also. I am pretty sure that it is consistent with the movie.

    Consistant with the movie would mean it doesn’t have a tar spot that sequence is at the end LONG after he has been cleaned. I think the real version should not have a tar spot and I would wait to get yours on a card back to make sure it’s even real. Just a personal opinion. The line gets changed a LOT and until I see it on a card back with or without tar thats when I’ll decide.

  21. Does anybody have their Chase McQueen yet? Worker at KB Toys told me they are getting a shipment tomorrow, so that is where I will be. Also, I have something funny to post. Eric (DisneyCarsFan) bought an item from me on ebay not that long ago. Little did I know……

  25. Has anyone already answered this question…In looking at the photo on the package, McQueen has on Lightyear tires but the actual car has whitewalls. In the movie, does he have the Lightyear tires or whitewalls when he has the stickers on? About how far into the movie is that so I can find it.

  26. Hi, Micky.

    I think McQueen has Whitewalls in the movie when he gets the bumper stickers. The scene in the movie is after LMQ fixes the road and everybody thinks he has left town during the night without saying goodbye. Then LMQ comes up and says “What time does Luigi’s open?” This should help you find the scene, it is someone after LMQ gets Whitewalls from Lugi.

Yeah this version of McQueen is right after he gets the tire change from Luigi and Guido he goes to see Lizzy and she slaps the stickers on him, but before he gets the new paint job from Ramone. I was wondering the same thing myself and watched it this weekend. It still scares me how many more cars they could release.

    Side note I did see that McQueen after the paint job does still have the stickers on his bumper so that may be another version as well.

    Hit a bunch of places this weekend and didn’t see him or the counter parts from the case anywhere. TRU did have a fresh stock of Movie Moemnents E case so I was able to get Flea and Flik so that was cool, but not a single one I was missing was out there for the singles. Also Target had a lot of the value packs out.

  33. Well I’m not in Lincoln but I am in Omaha and there’s no Stickers McQueen here. I’ve looked at a few Targets, a WM & a TRU in the past two days and there’s nothing new. The last new ones I’ve seen here were Van & Luke. I haven’t even seen Kathy or Tar McQueen.
    Met - I’m not sure whether “somewhere out of the blue” was a term of endearment or you were trying to call me a hick :) :)

    (MET: Yes, I’m a Californian and everything slightly east of Reno is considered the Midwest to us ;-) BTW, geography is easy for us as there are only a few parts of the continental US … California, Pacific Northwest West, Southwest, Midwest, South, New York Area & New England … :-) or as I see it - salmon, steak, pulled pork, pastrami and lobster roll :-) … so by ‘out of the blue,’ I only mean that logically it should show up first around a port city but that almost never seems to be the case but CASE R is on the transit path and is scheduled to arrive on Thursday … once it reaches the hands that will open them, that’s another story of when you’ll see it on the shelves though …).

  38. I’m on the west coast of Florida (central) and there hasn’t been anything new here in months also. I ordered the R case from Children’s Toy Closet and am looking forward to receiving it. I sure hope “Stickers” is in it!

  39. Seems to me like the Cars seem to hit in the midwest first then slowly spread to the Coasts with the metropolitan areas seeing them earlier. Does that sound right to you guys?

    I feel like I hear about people seeing them here first, then a couple of weeks later I start seeing evidence of new cases in the stores, then I actually find the new Cars I am looking for about a week later.

  41. I feel like California gets everything first (makes sense as that’s where the boats make port right?). Madison, WI and Chicago seem consistently to get stuff about two weeks after I read Californians’ sitings. I remember PDiddy (Michigan) saying he found the MM and launcher 2-packs about a week before I saw them. But I also saw the singles before PDiddy did also.

    Truthfully, I don’t care when I get new stuff as long as do find new stuff (still looking for PT Flea and Flik - anyone need Trunk Fresh and No Stall?). I jsut don’t want to resort to ebay (I’m chancing it by hoping I can pick up the cars I need from case R on store pegs).

  45. Does anybody see the possibility of a second coming of the walmart exclusives (barney, Bruiser, TJ, kori)?

    (MET: There is probably going to be a second WM pallet drop/cube but Barney is most likely not in it - he’s coming in the OVERSIZED case - coming in September. I doubt that WM would accept them again as part of an exclusive deal for the other three CARS but there’s no guarantee either way on that one BUT eventually we will get the other three CARS in some form or another).

  47. Met, I saw that oversized Barney at Target. And, if that’s the one you’re talking about, it looks like a little kid toy. I’d buy an out of scale Barney any day over that. That one in itself appears to be out of scale. The classic PT-17 Stearman had a wingspan of 32 feet and a length of 24 feet. I need to take my tape measure back to Target for a measurement. Anybody out there, who already has one, can save me a trip and give the measurements. Remember, the Wright brothers’ first flight was less than the wingspan of a Boeing 747.

    (MET: No, it’s confusing because while that one is clearly “oversized,” Mattel does not call that Barney Stormin’ by that … instead, they are doing a series of CARS in oversized blister cards - some of the CARS are oversized over their 1:55 brethern like the new Al Oft but others are in line to the 1:55 scale - confused, so is everyone :-) … so Barney Stormin’ (the one from the WM cards) is back but in all metal (not just the body like last year) on OVERSIZED blister cards. His size doesn’t change - he’s mostly accurate to the 1:55 CARS - maybe a skoosh short but there are probably a 1,000 biplanes versions …).

  48. eBay is full of auctions for case R in hand and the chase Car in hand. OK so that means Children’s Toy Closet will send my case that I ordered soon. I hope! The suspense is killing me.

    Since I ordered the case we haven’t been hitting the stores as much; I’m really jonesin’ for a fix now. I think we’ll be making a trip to TRU tomorrow; they get shipments on Fridays so we’ll be there at 0955. It would be a riot if they had the Chase Car just sitting on a peg waiting for me. “Clean up in aisle 10!” I just peed my pants.

  51. Just got a Sticker MQ!! at WM Colorado. My friend found one and hid it behind the Barbies for me!! The I got all the others too! I also saw two of the Trunk Fresh/No Stall 2 paks at Target, anyone want one of those? you’ll need to call me at 720.350.7550 ASAP there is also about 3 leakless/no stall MM’s

    ***unfortunately the top corner of Stickers MQ is creased so it is my opener, now just to find a keeper….CaseStaker on the prowell!!!

  60. Looking at the ebay auction listed above and checking out the other items available, this guy has some kind of connection at Mattel or more likely China, cuz most of that stuff is not available yet or at all! Seems fishy some how..we need your opinion here, oh Guru of the Cars, MET?!?!

  63. I think the whitewall without stickers is part of the new movie moments coming out. There was an auction on ebay that I saw with the whitewall McQ and another one with tumbleweed McQ. They were part of a movie moment. They probably opened them so they could claim case R. Otherwise people would see they are from a movie moment coming out. The auctions I saw showed the guy received preview pieces. It might still be listed. I just saw it a couple days ago.

  66. My point was just to say that the car was coming out in a movie moment form. It must be out in Spanish already but not available in the states. The comments talk about the car being loose above and why that would be. I did not think it was a special version out of case R. Good eye Mr. T.
